Amanda MURPHY
Amanda Murphy is a health and fitness professional with over 10 years of experience. Amanda’s fitness profile consists of yoga, functional movement and overall mental health.
Along with her extensive background in health and fitness she has a BA in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Hawaii, Hilo. This experience adds to her holistic approach to over health; mind, body and environment.
CLAIRE NICHOLS
Claire is an undergraduate student at the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University studying Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. She is accomplished with SolidWorks, other 3D modeling programs, Python, and basic microbiology. She hopes to get involved with designing and building prosthetics and orthotics in her future.
FARIDA MOHAMED
After completing her undergraduate degree in education, Farida Mohamed earned her her Master’s degree in Hospitality Administration Management at Virginia Tech in 2018. She was awarded the Pamplin College of Business Most Outstanding Master’s Student 2018, and served as the National Capital Region Graduate Student speaker in 2018.
Dr. Denis Gracanin
Dr. Denis Gracanin is an Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Virginia Tech. His research interests include human computer interaction, IoT, and smart built environments.

Reza Tasooji is a doctoral candidate in Computer Science with Human Centered Design at Virginia Tech. He holds a MFA in Creative Technology. His research interests include affective computing, machine learning, and IoT.

Jack Quimby
Jack Quimby is an undergraduate student at Auburn University majoring in computer science, He is proficient in java, python, and c++ and, In his free time, he makes art and animated videos using stop motion coding.
He has built many computers in his life and tinkers with all kinds of mechanical things, As Jack describes himself, “I am very much a tinkerer.”

Holly Gillcash has over 15 years of experience in higher education at UCLA, George Mason University, and most recently, with Virginia Tech’s nationally-ranked graduate online Master of Information Technology program. Holly holds a M.Ed. with a concentration in technology in education from Harvard University.

Dean MCINTYRE
Dean McIntyre served as System Administrator and Programmer Analyst for the University of Virginia for 24 years, managing the School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies networks and servers statewide. He also worked for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as System Analyst and System Administrator, and for PBS as Assistant Director of Online Services for Mathline.
ROWENA ENATSKY
Rowena Enatsky is a programmer, instructional designer, and education technology product developer. In addition to working with CLS, she is a lead STEM instructor and Engineering Lab Manager at Virginia Tech, where she and her team serve thousands of school-aged students, teachers, administrators, parents, and collaborators annually in the DC metro area. She also works with educators throughout the U.S. and internationally and is a member of the 2021 micro:bit champion pilot program.

JIM MURPHY
Jim Murphy is a Distance Learning Specialist with over 30 years of experience with distance learning and telecommunications. Starting with the Commonwealth’s initiative to build a collaborative graduate engineering program, Jim has worked with educational partners at George Mason, Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

BELLA
Bella is an 11 year old chocolate labrador. She grew up in the Rocky Mountains; cross country skiing, swimming and hiking in Summit County Colorado. Bella has also lived in Hawaii where she enjoyed soaking up the sun, swimming and living aloha.
Bella is now working with us at CLS in downtown Roanoke at the RHEC. She is our resident Emotional Support Animal and is here for you anytime you need. She has worked in many gyms throughout her life and is happy to be of service here.
