After Registering
The Canvas course site will open to registered students on Saturday, July 4, 2020.
Registered students will receive an email on Friday, July 3, 2020 with instructions on how to access the Canvas learning platform when it opens, and how to access the first ZOOM live session on Monday, July 6th, 2020. This information will also be posted on the STEM+ by CLS website.
Students are encouraged to visit the course site in Canvas before the first meeting for a sneak peak of the contents and assignments.
What do students need to participate?

Internet Access
Required to access course materials, complete assignments, and participate in ZOOM live sessions.

Google Account
Students must have an active Google or Google-based account to participate in course activities. Students will be using Google’s Colab and sharing Googlesheets as part of the course assignments.
If you do not have an active Google account, Create a Google Account
If you prefer, you can use an existing email address to create a Google account
Accessing the Course in Canvas
Students will receive an email invitation from Canvas to join the Canvas course site on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Accept the invitation to access the course site.
This first time you accesses Canvas, you will be asked to create a password for your Canvas student account. After this, you can get to the Canvas course site:
- Using the link in the original email
- Going to canvas.instructure.com
- From the STEM+ website
Attending Online Live Session in Zoom
Weekday online live ZOOM sessions will be held Monday – Friday at 11:00 a.m. ET. The link to the ZOOM session will be posted on the Canvas course site.
Reza Tasooji will hold the first live online class meeting in ZOOM at 11:00 am ET on the Monday after the 4th of July weekend.
